ABOUT US

We did not receive questionnaires from the following candidates, but a HumaneMass representative spoke to the candidate on the phone.  Following is a brief summary of the conversation.

Again, we encourage you to contact the candidates and ask questions yourselves.

Cesar Archilla
a phone conversation showed him to be extremely positive about animal protections and that he would definitely speak up as a strong advocate for animals

Leo Pelletier
a phone conversation showed him to care about animals and that he had worked on a bill to help a local animal shelter in the past but that he wouldn't always necessarily support animal protection bills, would like to ban pit bulls and rottweilers from Fall River, is in favor of slot machines at the dog tracks, and isn't sure whether or not he'd support a Sunday hunting ban..

Tanya Degenova
a phone conversation showed that she respected animals and was opposed to animal cruelty but that she wouldn't always necessarily support animal protection bills without first considering all sides of the issues and, for example, said she would have to consider the rights of hunters before deciding about whether or not to support a Sunday hunting ban.
