Humane
USA-Massachusetts works to elect the most humane-minded candidates to public office in Massachusetts, so that these officials can enact laws and policies that will protect animals. We also work to defeat candidates who oppose enacting protections for animals and who seek to pass legislation that would harm animals. By involvement in these campaigns, animal advocates can influence the outcome of elections in favor of animal-friendly candidates. We can be an identifiable voting block that will encourage more candidates to recognize the importance of animal protection issues.
Pro-animal nonprofits, because of their charitable status with the IRS, are legally prohibited from electioneering activity (supporting and opposing candidates). A political action committee (PAC) is therefore uniquely needed to build a body of humane-minded elected officials who will work to protect animals from neglect, cruelty and exploitation.
